It's discovered that a Kobold mage is controlling the Kobolds, not leading them. Simultaneously, a teammate suffers a panic attack and is dying, while they also face a massive attack from Kobolds. The protagonist strategically retreats while ordering a defense, but the overwhelming power of the Kobold mage is breaching their defenses.
